OUR FINISHING PROCESS
OUR FINISHING PROCESS
Our finishing process consists of upto 5 coats. 1 or sometimes 2 stain coats (depending on the depth of colour required) and upto 3 coats of matt lacquer depending on how poreous the timber is. Each coat is allowed to dry and is then denibbed using wire wool between each coat. Some companies use a 1 coat system where the stain is mixed with the lacquer and simply sprayed over the top. This is done for speed and cheapness and results in any chips or wear revealing the bare wood underneath. Finishing cannot be rushed. It is a long laborious process to acheive a beautiful finish.
